I enjoyed the way it was written, and was interested in her perspective of how things went.I liked the way it was written from the girls perspective, but it left me wanting to know about the brothers especially the younger 2 and when and how they adapted to their new life. Having seen the movie - and thoroughly enjoyed it - some time ago, i wasn`t sure i would enjoy the book - but it was absolutely marvellous ! It gave me great understanding of a child's perspective in their feelings towards a step parent, since the author was the child remembering her past. Her memoir is both heartwarming and heartrending, relating information about the landmark court case regarding her custody without losing the reader in dry details.
