I had a great dinner here and I really recommend White Horse to anyone looking for some great seafood and good service. Especially during the happy hour, M-Thursday (4-6pm).Delicious food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere! I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting.Stopped in after (unfortunately!) Please reference government guidelines in terms of your party makeup & arrive promptly for your reservation.All of our staff have undertaken Covid 19 training prior to our re-opening. Enjoyed it very much. The interior of the restaurant was dark and quaint - I loved it. If you come hungry definitely order the full house and some small plates. There were seats at the front bar open and a seperate table at the front bar open, we asked if we could sit there and were told the empty table was reserved and we could not sit at the bar as that's for waiting customers to have a drink until their table was ready.
I would suggest dropping in and eating in the bar.This by far was the best oysters I have had in a longtime. The food was still the same amazing food as before. It seems that they do most of their business off reservations, as we had to be quick because all the tables were reserved out after a specific time.
If I'm ever back in Edinburgh I'll have to stop by again.Very nice food, also very nice location. Ondine serves up mouthwatering fresh and innovative seafood dishes in a chic, modern atmosphere right in Old Town.
For it being off such a busy street and the front door wide open, the inside was private and relaxing. If you like fresh oysters, crab, lobster...well pretty much anything in the sea White Horse has it. A must eat in Edinburgh. Complete different place. All high usage surfaces (such as door handles & toilets) will be sanitised every 30 minutes. They were all presented beautifully at the table with an expertly described description of all by a friendly bartender/server. We will also be carrying out anti viral fogging regularly.We'll be serving drinks on a table service basis only and all bar seating will be closed.We'll have a host on the door who'll make sure the entrance area is well managed & socially distanced.
